Weekly Comments #25
This week overall was pretty good. We didn't really learn a whole lot, just a little bit of quick tips in Photoshop. The only thing that frustrated me this week was the Photoshop contest, I just don't have any unique or original ideas for it yet. I am pretty happy though that I haven't fell behind so far with work.
Here's the link of the week: http://yowayowacamera.com/
These are some awesome levitation photography photos I found. They are just so cool to look at and see. I really want to try this out next time I have the chance because these look awesome. My favorite one is the pay phone one on the second page.

Serious Time #47 The Legendary Chuck Jones
Chuck Jones was one of the most famous directors at Warner Bros. for his works in the show Looney Tunes. He has directed more than 200 cartoons for Warner Bros., more specifically 10 films a year and 6 min. per film. Like most Chuck had a process/ structure for the things he did, one of those things were his jokes. Most of his jokes always followed a 2 part structure, the fist part has you make an assumption and the second proves it wrong. The jokes that Chuck made were not the best part of his films though, it was the characters. The character process was a very long one, a good example of this is Daffy Duck. Daffy through the course of 15 years changed from a wacky lunatic into a guy who wants glory and is always the butt of the joke. Another thing a lot of his characters posses is desire. Each character has a simple one which in turn makes the character more vivid. The next step is movement. Chuck says that the story should sell itself by the way it moves over the dialogue of the actual film. One big part of all of Chucks work was discipline. This is what Chuck used to have the film or characters seem repetitive. He had rules for each character, a good example of this would be Bugs Bunny. Chuck said that they never wanted to make Bugs a bully with him picking the fights. So to avoid this they always had someone do vice versa to him, these are the only times that he would fight back. The way Chuck used facial features also evolved over time. At first they were highly exaggerated and would come in short bursts, but eventually that changed to more minimalistic facial expressions to get laughs. Probably one of the things he did the best was his use of human behavior. To get a better understanding of human behavior you have to go to the source of the subject and study that, not just sit around and and watch movies. In short studying the real world very important in order to gain inspiration. That's all folks!
I really enjoyed this video! It was so cool to have a look inside of the mind of Chuck Jones. Looney Tunes was and still is one of my favorite things to watch on the weekend so this was really cool to watch for me. I never knew or even thought of any of the things brought up in this video til now, I didn't really think that there was such a crazy process for only a 6 minute film. I highly agree with the final message of the video which was the best place to gain inspiration and to learn human behavior is to go out and study the source instead of just watching movies. I just really wonder what gave him inspiration for his films, sadly this is probably something we will never know. This is more relevant to the animation side of digital media. Overall pretty cool video.

This is me testing the video responses for Digital Media.
Weekly Comments #24
This week was pretty good. We had a bunch of demos in Photoshop, a program that I have previously no history with, and now I know how to do some really cool stuff with it! We also had a lot of quizzes as well which I did not enjoy. I'm just really looking forward to learning more after effects, I have used it before and quite enjoyed it so I am excited for that. Overall pretty chill week.

Serious Time #45 Procrastination and Stuff...
Procrastination is an issue everyone will face at one point in their life. For those who don't know procrastination is basically pushing something off or aside until later and never getting to it. It happens with homework, chores, and even blogs! Fear not though because here are 6 steps to beat procrastination! The first things you should do is figure out all your priorities, after that you should also make a to do list to be more organized. The internet is a big cause of procrastination. The internet will distract you from doing a lot of your work, to prevent this you should schedule your time. Another thing that might help would be working on the most difficult thing on your list first to get it out of the way and to overall get that weight off of your chest for not doing it. Pre-planning can also make your life a lot easier setting dates when to have certain things worked on and/or completed. Most of all don't freeze, even if the task seems huge and undo-able. Just take a few steps back and break it all down into steps in which you can easily order and conquer in a doable amount of time. When it comes down to it you should always get your work done on time and procrastination can stop you from doing so. Morale of the story kids, don't procrastinate!
This article was okay, it wasn't good but it wasn't bad. The main reason why I say this is because the article is somewhat just common knowledge in my opinion. Most of the things in this article I either do or have tried before to stop or prevent procrastination. That being said I didn't really learn much in this article. The article as a whole though was very well put together. I also do agree with this article as I do most of these steps already. This article is relevant to all forms of digital media. Overall decent article.
