Serious Time #37 Easy Mode

2D puppet rigging was simpler and more advanced then what they used to do. 2D rigging required a lot of memorization and patience to get it to work, but now this has changed. Adobe has now made something called Adobe Character Animator which allows a person to rig a character by only giving parts proper names. Once that is complete you animate and move the character around by just your actual live motions through a webcam. It can detect facial movements and even lip sync without the touch of a mouse. The future is looking bright for animation.

This was a pretty nice and short article. I liked how it just simply explained what seems to be something more complicated then it appears to be. Not using or trying it naturally makes me skeptical but from what I saw it still looks really cool. It might be a bit more complex then they let it off to be, but even then it still looks a lot easier then what Toon Boom offers at the moment. There also wasn't really anything that I didn't like about this article though. It was straight forward, short, and informative. This is definitely on the animation side of Digital Media. Overall interesting article.
